History and rollback

Every template keeps a full history of its published versions. You can bring back any earlier version at any time.

Version history

Open a template’s details page to see its versions, newest first. Each entry shows:

• The version number, such as v4
• When it was published
• Who published it
• Live on the version the API and SendGrid currently use, or Restore on older ones

How rollback works

Rolling back takes two steps: restore an old version into your draft, then publish.

1. On the details page, press Restore next to the version you want.
2. Confirm. Maiilo copies that version’s content, subject and variables into your draft, replacing what the draft had.
3. Check the draft in the builder if you want to.
4. Press Publish. The restored content goes live as a new version number.

For example, if v6 is live and you restore v2, publishing creates v7 with v2’s content. The history keeps v2 and v6 unchanged, so you can see exactly what happened.

What restore does not do

• It does not change what is live. Until you publish, the API and SendGrid keep serving the current published version.
• It does not rewrite history. No version is edited or deleted.
• It does replace your draft. Unpublished changes in the draft are overwritten, which is why Maiilo always asks you to confirm first.

Shared blocks in restored versions

A restored version keeps its links to shared blocks. When you open the draft, linked sections show the block’s current content, and publishing uses that current content.
